They remind me a lot of the neighborhood I lived in, when I lived in southern California. The City of Dallas is behind a major 'street scape' infrastructure project, and nearly 20 million is being invested into the overall redevelopment (new roads, new landscaping, new lighting, new sidewalks, new parking lots, etc). I should add I spent a while driving around looking at the homes in the area too. SHOP Development redeveloped Casa View Shopping Center in Far East Dallas (Ferguson & Gus Thomasson). Pat Lubys in Casa View ( Pat was a man ) This cafeteria moved from Lochwood mall after a fire in 1984 or 85 I dont remember the year for sure. Represented originally the Fire Association of Philadelphia, but now represent over a dozen firms, including Glens Falls Insurance Company. This shopping center also had the largest ever Wyatts store. This shopping center is similar to the GSC in that the it once had many of the same tenants, of course things have changed here as well. Trezevant and became one of the largest fire insurance companies in the South. The Casa View Shopping Center is located at Gus Thomasson and Ferguson roads in East Dallas. Of course I don't know where good or bad areas are in Dallas, but I felt safe the whole time. Established on Jwith Samuel Poyatz Cochran and J.T. I drove around White Rock Lake, then turned left when it brought me back to the main road, then cut over to Jupiter after I drove through Garland, then followed it all the way back to Plano.
Don't paint the whole East Dallas area w/ such a broad brush if you really don't know anything about it and have not been there in years or even at night. There are some very nice areas in and around Casa View. I've been down there MANY times in the evenings.
There is a wonderful Jewish retirement center off of Ferguson that is nicely kept. Casa View 360 is LAs Premier Veteran and Woman-Owned Small Business that provides amazing 360 Virtual Tours (Powered by Matterport). RI-7-8811 Irby Mayes Man’s Shop, 1701 Commerce. Oh, went to concerts at Lakewood Theater and take Garland Rd all the way and that includes thru Casa View, drove a Porsche too. TA-7-5218 Edgar Men’s and Boy’s Wear - Casa View Village Drefus & Jon, 1701 Main. We have gone MANY times and had not one single problem. If it was SOOOOOO bad then why on earth do these people w/ these high dollar classic cars go driving over to the Casa View shopping center at night? With the top down if it is a convertible.
Never been to Fat Daddy's on a Tuesday night then for the car shows? Boy are you missing out.
